A new energy firm has been launched in Huddersfield to work specifically with businesses and charities in Calderdale and Kirklees to help them tackle rising energy costs.
Founded by Yorkshire entrepreneur Gareth Henderson, FM Energy is proposing to take a facilities management approach to energy consultancy, tackling the operational issues that impact on costs as well as offering support for buying energy and bill management.
Gareth has a background in energy consultancy as founder and former managing director of Orchard Energy.
He said the new company would complement the services of his facilities management business, Orchard FM.
“Energy consultancy is a natural fit with estates management, waste and IT managed services and the new business means we will be able to offer existing facilities management clients a more complete cost management service with one single point of contact,” said Gareth.
“Everything we currently do is focused around helping local organisations streamline their processes, overheads and compliance.
“Energy is an important part of any business’s operational and cost strategy and this new business is a natural progression.”
Gareth said the core values that he established when founding his current and previous businesses would be carried through to FM Energy.
“I have always believed strongly in the value of relationships in business and this is why face to face client contact and long term strategic partnerships will be at the heart of the FM Energy business,” he said.
FM Energy will be based at Independence House in Huddersfield and will operate throughout West Yorkshire. Gareth said he will be leading the business and will make further announcements in the coming weeks regarding the senior management team of the new company.
